Duration of Domestic SPF Pig-Derived Placenta Extract Powder Use: From early November 2017

Treatment Course

October 26, 2017
Entangled in a hose, unable to stand, paralyzed hindquarters. No sense of pain, knuckling* observed.
Subcutaneous hematoma also confirmed in the left flank.
Administered fluid therapy.

*Knuckling refers to:
– A wobbly gait with poor foot placement
– Walking with the dorsum (top) of the paw rather than the sole
– Dragging the toes while walking

October 27
Blood tests showed an increase in GOT, GPT, and ALP.
From early November, added Ursodiol 50 and domestic SPF pig-derived placenta extract powder (1/4 spoon per day).
Inability to stand continued for about 10 days but can now walk.

[A Note from the Laboratory]
This is a case where values improved within a short period.

In the January 2018 examination, although some values rose compared to the December examination, they remained within the normal range, and the ALP value is approaching the standard range.

Given the advanced age of the dog, we wish for a tranquil and extended twilight period for her.

Placenta for Liver Function Improvement

There are not few cases where administering domestic SPF pig-derived placenta extract powder to dogs with declining liver or kidney function has led to improvement.
Effect evaluations can be made in as little as 1 to 1.5 months.
