Bladder Tumor Shrinks After Starting Cordy
Here are ultrasound images of a Shiba Inu’s transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder.
These images were provided by the pet owner.
Although we continued with piroxicam and supplements, the tumor kept growing, so we commenced Cordy administration.
The tumor size was 7mm before starting Cordy, but it shrunk to 2mm about a month and a half after administration. Currently, we are using a combination of Cordy and piroxicam, and have stopped the previously used supplements.

About Bladder Cancer Treatment
Bladder cancer treatment does not end with surgical removal. Post-surgery often involves dealing with aftereffects, and the quality of life (QOL) may decrease. Urinary disorders are highly prevalent, and bowel movement disorders can also occur. It is essential to carefully weigh the pros and cons before deciding on surgery.
Recently, piroxicam (brand name: BEXTRA, medicinal oral drug) is being used for bladder cancer treatment.
It has become almost a standard treatment today. Piroxicam is originally an anti-inflammatory pain-relieving drug for humans. It does not have the severe side effects typical of anticancer drugs, and its effectiveness does not drastically decrease with continuous use. In this case, we are also continuing the use of piroxicam. No concerning gastrointestinal side effects have been observed.
Since we have seen a positive response after starting Cordy, combining piroxicam with Cordy seems to be a good approach. We plan to conduct further research on the combination of piroxicam and Cordy moving forward.
Our laboratory is conducting research to see if Cordy administration can modulate the immune system and if we can expect it to be effective against cancer.
