Living Without Developing Leukemia Symptoms Information provided by: Harumi Yasaka (Owner) Species:

Living Without Developing Leukemia Symptoms

Information provided by: Harumi Yasaka (Owner)

Species: Cat
Emu-chan (Male) Kuro-chan (Male)
Birthdate: May 1, 2019 (Estimated, as they were born on the balcony)
Weight: Emu-chan 6.3 kg, Kuro-chan 6.4 kg
Age: 5 years and 2 months
Condition: Feline Leukemia (both cats)

Progress and Current Condition

The veterinarian told me that there is no treatment for leukemia, so we should focus on preventing the onset and boosting their immunity.
While searching for supplements, I came across Cordy and informed the vet. They said it was a good idea, so we decided to try it.

Since the health checkup in May 2021 revealed the condition, we started using Cordy around June 2021. We could give it to them before any severe symptoms appeared.
Their weight increased by about 1 kg, and we transitioned them from outdoor to fully indoor cats. They remain as energetic and have the same good appetite, running around energetically.

Cordy is the only supplement they have been on for about three years.

● There are no medications from the animal hospital, as there is no treatment. We only manage symptoms when they appear.

● How we give Cordy
We used to form small balls and put them in their mouths three times a day or mix it with Churu, but recently we dissolve it in water and mix it into their food twice a day.

● Diet: We provide a balanced complete feed and avoid giving them too much Churu or snacks.

Emu-chan

Kuro-chan

● A final word from the owner
When they were diagnosed with leukemia, the vet told us there was an 80% chance they wouldn’t live past three years. Since they were two years old at the time, I was devastated thinking they had only one year left to live.
I believe the fact that they are still healthy and lively is thanks to Cordy. I have a reason to trust Cordy. Our cats have a friend, a so-called community cat who is completely an outdoor cat, and they played together since kittenhood.
This friend cat, who comes to our window healthy, has been fed the leftovers of our cats’ Cordy-infused food. Other outdoor cats usually disappear within three years, but this one has been thriving for five years.
Isn’t this thanks to Cordy? I believe that you don’t have to give up even with an illness. Thank you, and please continue to support us.

Example of Reduced Lung Tumor

Information Provided By: Mari Yamamoto (Owner)

Species: Cat
Gender: Female, Mimi-chan
Age: Unknown (Rescued Cat) as of November 2022
Weight: 6.3kg
Condition: Lung tumor

Progress and Current Status

The tumor shrank and Mimi-chan is full of energy after two months of taking Cordy!

I discovered Cordy through an online search and decided to purchase a trial size.
After starting it in March 2023, the check-up two months later showed a significant reduction in the tumor size—what a surprise!

Her weight, energy levels, and appetite remained stable.

I gave her Cordy six to seven times a day, using the included spoon to form it into small balls, thanks to family support for the daily routine.

Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) spreads among cats through fighting, mating, and grooming. It can easily infect multiple cats in a household, leading to cases where all the cats are infected.

It is known to cause diseases such as lymphoma, which has a high mortality rate when occurring in young cats, making the primary goal of treatment to prolong life as much as possible.

Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) occurs when the feline coronavirus mutates into the highly pathogenic Feline Infectious Peritonitis Virus (FIPV). For further details, please refer to “Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) – Coronavirus infection, symptoms, and tips for improvement and cure.”

Feline coronavirus spreads through saliva and feces, making it highly contagious. It is said that half the cats in Japan (some estimates claim over 70%) are infected. The chance of coronavirus mutating into FIPV increases when a cat’s immune system is compromised.

FIP is classified into two types: the wet form, characterized by fluid accumulation in the abdomen or chest, and the dry form, which causes granuloma formation and neurological symptoms.

We have received a report of a cat suffering from both FeLV and FIP experiencing stabilized health after using Cordy, which we are sharing here.

【Note from the Laboratory】
In Western medicine, FeLV, FIP, and FIV (Feline AIDS) have no cures and are typically managed with symptomatic treatment. However, incorporating alternative therapies can often lead to symptom relief and remission.

The onset of viral diseases is primarily due to a decline in immunity. Therefore, when dealing with viruses like FeLV, FIV, and feline coronavirus, it is essential to maintain stable immunity to prevent the viruses from causing illness.

Immune Support with Cordy for FIP, FeLV, and FIV

FIP is an extremely rapidly progressing and highly fatal disease. FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) and FIV (Feline AIDS) are also troublesome conditions. However, by using Cordy to regulate the immune system, supporting liver health with domestically produced SPF pig-derived placenta extract, managing inflammation with krill oil extracted from Antarctic krill (EPA/DHA), and providing low-protein diets such as green tripe (ruminant stomach) and amino acid supplements containing BCAAs, many cases have shown improved prognoses.

February 2018
Since the cat was four months old, there had been concerns about coughing, and upon visiting the animal hospital, pleural effusion was discovered. The pleural effusion had the characteristic yellowish, viscous appearance typical of FIP, leading to a diagnosis of FIP. Steroid and interferon were administered for two consecutive days. However, as the symptoms did not improve, hospital treatment was temporarily halted and the situation was monitored at home.

At home, the focus was placed on detoxification, switching from dry food to homemade meals.

– Oral cleansing with baking soda water
– Homemade plum extract
– Edible charcoal powder
– Manuka honey

These measures were incorporated.

After two consecutive days of black stools, it was determined that some detoxification had been achieved.

– Tamogi mushroom
– Carp oil (rich in amino acids and DHA; discontinued at the end of June 2018)
– Moringa (a plant rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acid GABA, polyphenols, and other nutrients)
– Fermented vegetable powder
– Goat milk

These ingredients were used to create and administer homemade tonics.

Pleural effusion removal was performed on February 15 and March 30.

Condition After Using Cordy

On April 7, we had a consultation over the phone, and the following points were discussed:

– The use of mushroom-based supplements might cause immune depletion.
– The use of adlay tea to expect diuretic effects.
– Amino acids containing BCAA for protein supplementation.
– Incorporating massage as much as possible.

Starting from April 8, Cordy’s administration began, and Tamogi mushroom was discontinued. After administration, the condition gradually stabilized, and the weight increased from around 1.6 kg at the onset to 3.3 kg as of 9 months old.

On April 25, the third pleural effusion removal was performed, but the effusion no longer had the characteristics of FIP. As of July 11, 2018, no further effusion removal has been necessary.

Upon reading the blog, it was clear that instead of relying solely on the hospital, significant research was done on what could be done at home for the beloved cat. The mother’s deep affection was palpable.

Additionally, in the videos, the cat exhibited such a lively demeanor, running and climbing as if not affected by FIP.

About Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP)

Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease in cats, often referred to as an incurable disease, with a median survival period after diagnosis of nine days. (According to the report by the Feline Infectious Disease Study Group)

Despite the advances in medical science, a definitive treatment for FIP has not yet been established, and most approaches are symptomatic. However, as demonstrated by the cat in this case, home care can sometimes improve the quality of life without relying solely on hospitals and medications.

For more information on Feline Infectious Peritonitis, please refer to another page we have compiled: ‘ About Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP)‘
In the case of this cat, incorporating supplements that aid in detoxifying and supporting the body has proven effective. However, more than anything else, I believe it is the result of the “owner’s positive engagement.”

Owners and pets are “inseparable.”

Rather than becoming pessimistic due to an incurable disease, the determination to find something that can be done and to strive together is the most potent medicine to draw out the life force of pets.

Owners who are currently in a challenging situation, please try to engage positively in even just one thing. It will surely become a “ray of hope” for your pet.

Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) Measures

FIP is a difficult disease to treat, but there are many cases where improving immunity, reducing inflammation, reviewing the diet, and protecting the liver from the side effects of steroids and interferon can help restore vitality and appetite, thereby improving the Quality of Life (QoL).

Depending on the approach, coexisting with FIP or improving the prognosis is possible, so please do not despair.

Boosting Immunity

Providing Cordy can help improve the cat’s immunity, improve symptoms, and enhance QoL. Even cats diagnosed with the so-called incurable Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) have been reported to live more comfortably with alleviated symptoms.

Reducing Inflammation

FIP is a disease accompanied by inflammation. In wet-type FIP, abdominal effusion accumulates in the abdominal cavity, but reducing peritoneal inflammation can make it less likely for the effusion to build up. It is recommended to provide EPA/DHA oil to help reduce FIP-induced inflammation.

Essential fatty acids like EPA and DHA are expected to have anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects. Particularly, krill oil extracted from Antarctic krill is better absorbed than the EPA/DHA found in fish and is rich in astaxanthin, an antioxidant that enhances EPA/DHA absorption.

Protecting the Liver

In FIP, it is common to use steroids (such as prednisolone) or interferon for treatment, but these medications place a burden on the liver. The liver is known as the silent organ, and it is not uncommon for it to suffer damage even if no abnormalities are detected in blood tests.

When the liver is damaged, it cannot produce energy, which can result in lethargy, decreased appetite, and an increased likelihood of side effects from medication.
Domestic SPF Pig-Derived Placenta Extract Powder Can Improve Liver Function.

The liver is an organ responsible for detoxification and metabolism. If it functions properly, it can promote the expulsion of toxins and cleanse the body, potentially leading to more stable overall health.

Diet: Implementing a Low-Protein Strategy

When suffering from FIP, the cat’s appetite decreases, leading to significant weight loss. Proteins are essential as they form the body’s blood and muscles.

To prevent a low-protein state, try to provide high-quality protein in your cat’s daily meals as much as possible. Although they might not be able to eat much, incorporating green tripe (the stomach of ruminant animals) could be beneficial.

Green tripe is rich in live enzymes, probiotics, and high-quality animal protein, making it an excellent supplement.

Even if the kidneys are somewhat impaired, FIP is an urgent issue, so ensure your cat gets sufficient protein (amino acids). Providing BCAA, an amino acid formula, may also be advisable.

Summary of FIP Countermeasures

If your beloved cat, a precious member of your family, is diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), you might consider adopting dietary and immune support measures:

Immune Support with Cordyceps: If the cat can drink fluids, liquid-cultured Cordyceps can be administered

Inflammation Control with Krill Oil (EPA/DHA extracted from Antarctic krill)

Liver Care with Domestic SPF Pig-Derived Placenta Extract Powder

Low-Protein Strategy with Green Tripe (the stomach of ruminant animals) / Amino Acids including BCAA

Cordyceps for Immune Support in FIP

FIP is a rapidly progressing and highly fatal disease. However, there have been increasing cases where prognosis improves by combining immune support with Cordyceps, liver care with Domestic SPF Pig-Derived Placenta Extract Powder, inflammation control with krill oil, and low-protein strategies with green tripe or amino acids including BCAA.

We received a report from Shiota Animal Hospital about a case where spraying Cordy cultured in liquid form improved the immune system of a cat with end-stage mammary tumors. We would like to share this case with you.
Liquid-cultured Cordy can be sprayed onto self-dissolving tumors and given via syringe during force-feeding. It also has high palatability, and most cats accept it without resistance.

Case of Using Cordy on Mammary Tumors (Breast Cancer) in Cats

Information provided by: Shiota Animal Hospital

[Mammary Tumor: Spraying Liquid-Cultured Cordy, Combined with Beta Shark]
Species: Cat
Gender: Female
Age: 7 years
Cordy use period: September 2, 2016, to November 2, 2016

Treatment Progress

On June 13, 2016, a lump was found in the abdomen, and injections of Depo-Medrol and Predonine were started. Regular injections continued thereafter.
On August 2, despite no changes in the abdominal mass, appetite decreased, and a new mass developed in the neck, prompting the start of Beta Shark administration.

On August 23, an attempt was made to administer Cordy orally, but the cat resisted, so on September 2, the treatment was switched to spraying liquid-cultured Cordy directly onto the affected area.

As the immune system improved, pain was alleviated, and appetite returned.

The cat passed away peacefully on November 2.

[Our Comment]
Mammary tumors in cats have a high malignancy rate, and it’s not uncommon for them to recur shortly after surgical removal. Repeated surgeries can progressively lower immunity due to the effects of anesthesia, leading to higher recurrence rates. Whether or not surgery is performed, it is crucial to quickly restore the immune regulatory ability.

In this case, using liquid-cultured Cordy as a topical treatment relieved pain, which likely led to stress reduction and consequent improvement in immunity.

Our laboratory is researching whether administering Cordy can modulate the immune system, maintain or improve quality of life (QOL), and be effective against cancer. If you have any questions, please contact us.

We are reporting a case from a veterinarian where a lymphoma or mast cell tumor in a cat’s spl

We are reporting a case from a veterinarian where a lymphoma or mast cell tumor in a cat’s spleen disappeared in just 50 days after being given Cordy.

We provide information to support your pet’s health>>

Functions of the Spleen and Malignant Tumors Developing in the Spleen

Many people might not be aware of the functions of the spleen. The spleen is an organ deeply involved in blood and immunity, and its main functions are as follows:

Immune regulation: The spleen is an organ that manages immunity, containing a lot of lymphatic tissue to regulate immune responses.

Blood regeneration: It destroys old or deformed blood cells and converts them into materials for new blood.

Blood storage: The spleen has the ability to store blood and releases stored blood in the event of bleeding to increase blood circulation volume.

Hematopoiesis: While hematopoiesis mainly occurs in the bone marrow, the spleen can perform hematopoiesis when the bone marrow is unable to do so effectively.

Most lumps that develop in the spleen are tumor lesions, many of which are malignant, and hemangiosarcoma frequently occurs. Other malignancies such as malignant lymphoma and undifferentiated sarcoma can also develop.

We provide information to support your pet’s health>>

Case of Splenic Tumor (Lymphoma or Mast Cell Tumor) Shrinking in a Cat (Ultrasound Images)

This is a case where a cat (23 years old) with an enlarged spleen showed reduction. Lymphoma or mast cell tumor is suspected.

Upon the veterinarian’s palpation, there was a lump on the spleen, but currently, it is not palpable, and the surface of the spleen is smooth (Veterinarian’s comment).

Since the cat was 23 years old and any treatment that could burden its body was deemed difficult, we chose to improve the immune system using Cordy.

In a short period of about 50 days after administering Cordy, the tumor in the spleen became non-palpable, and we could feel the effect of Cordy.

Adding Immune Measures to Cancer Treatment

At the Cordy Laboratory, we are conducting research based on the idea that adding Cordy to cancer treatments in animal hospitals as an immune measure may improve outcomes. As in this case, the tumor may become non-palpable within a short period, but even if the tumor does not disappear, we have received many reports indicating that vigor and appetite are restored, and quality of life (QOL) improves.

We would like to share a case report where a cat diagnosed with malignant lymphoma, with metastasis to the lungs, was given Cordy and after three months the tumor disappeared.
Learn more about Cordy>>

Overview of the Abdominal Cavity in Cats

What is Malignant Lymphoma in Cats?

Lymphoma is a type of malignant tumor where lymphocytes, a kind of white blood cell, proliferate tumorigenically.
In dogs, the incidence rate of tumors is high, representing 7-24% of all tumors in dogs.

Since lymphoma involves the canceration of white blood cells that circulate throughout the body, it can potentially occur in almost any tissue.
As lymphoma progresses, it can metastasize to the lungs or liver.
*When metastasis occurs in the lungs or liver, it is referred to as metastatic lung cancer or metastatic liver cancer, not primary lung or liver cancer.

Lymphoma can be classified into several types based on the tissue where it occurs.
In dogs, the multicentric type is the most common, accounting for over 80%. In cats, the gastrointestinal type is more prevalent, comprising 70%.

Multicentric Lymphoma

Characterized by the enlargement of lymph nodes, spreading to the liver, spleen, and bone marrow as it progresses.
Symptoms include weight loss, loss of appetite, lethargy, and fever, which are generally nonspecific.

Mediastinal Lymphoma

Characterized by swelling of the mediastinal lymph nodes. It can occur with or without bone marrow infiltration.

Gastrointestinal Lymphoma

Characterized by solitary, diffuse, or multiple infiltrations in the gastrointestinal tract. It may or may not involve swelling of the abdominal lymph nodes.

Extranodal Lymphoma

It can also affect the kidneys, nervous system, eyes, skin, and other organs.

[Malignant Lymphoma: Combination of Cordy, Probiotics, Ozone Therapy (Rectal Insufflation), and PRA Therapy]
Species: Cat (Kou)
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: 5 years 9 months
Weight: 3 kg (initially 3.8 kg)
Cordy usage duration: From May 13, 2017

[May 2017] The tumor is enclosed by the yellow line. A large tumor of 5 cm in size can be seen.

Treatment Progress

In late April 2017, due to a loss of appetite and weight loss (3.8 kg to 3.0 kg), an examination was conducted by the regular vet on May 4, revealing a tumor (5 cm in size) in the abdominal cavity. Cytology results diagnosed it as malignant lymphoma.

The life expectancy without treatment was 1 month. Options like chemotherapy, surgery, and steroids were proposed, but the decision was made not to pursue these treatments. Consequently, the cat was transferred to our hospital on May 13.

On the first day of the transfer, ozone therapy (rectal insufflation) and Cordy were started at 0.5 g/kg/TID (three times daily).

Request more information about Cordy treatment (Free)>>

During the follow-up on May 17 (4 days after the initial consultation), there was an increase in appetite, and the cat began eating on its own gradually. The weight was 2.84 kg, with a body temperature of 39.7°C.
May 21: A tendency for the abdominal tumor to shrink was confirmed.
May 27: The appetite returned to pre-tumor levels, and the abdominal tumor had shrunk to about 1 cm on palpation.
June 4: Full recovery in both energy and appetite, with weight increased to 3.22 kg. The abdominal tumor was no longer palpable.

Subsequently, the ozone therapy was reduced to once every two weeks, and by August 5, 2017, the weight had increased to 3.82 kg, and the fever present at the initial consultation had stabilized to normal levels.
The cat displays perfect energy and appetite, and since the tumor is no longer palpable, no ultrasound examination has been performed.
Currently, the patient is maintaining a state of remission through the combined use of Cordy, lactic acid bacteria, ozone therapy, and PRA therapy (bio-resonance therapy).

[August 20, 2017]
After starting the administration of Cordy and ozone therapy, the tumor became undetectable through palpation within three weeks, and we monitored the progress without performing an ultrasound examination. Subsequently, the patient’s condition remained good, so we performed an abdominal ultrasound examination three months after initiating treatment for malignant lymphoma.

As a result, the tumor that was present in the abdomen was not visible on the ultrasound images.

[Comment from the Laboratory]
In cases of malignant lymphoma, chemotherapy is commonly used. However, chemotherapy often comes with strong side effects and risks that may reduce the patient’s quality of life (QOL).

In cases like this one, it is possible to maintain QOL by using a combination of steroids and Cordy for lymphoma.

For those who do not wish to undergo aggressive treatment but want to do something beneficial, we hope that Cordy can assist in the treatment process.

Request information about Cordy treatment (free)>>

Our laboratory is conducting research to see if the administration of Cordy and lactic acid bacteria can modulate the immune system, maintain or improve quality of life (QOL), and have an effect on cancer.

We received a case report where a cat suspected of having lymphoma was managed long-term with a combination of Cordy and steroids, and we would like to introduce it.

Case of Using Cordy for a Cat Suspected of Having Lymphoma

Cat, Male, 13 years old (Born in February 2002)

Starting from February 2015, the cat experienced vomiting about 10 times a day, once a week. From August of the same year, the symptoms did not subside for about four days, leading to hospitalization. (Acute pancreatitis diagnosed)

From September of the same year, chronic diarrhea began, accompanied by vomiting (about once a day). The cat had a strong appetite.

Blood tests and ultrasound indicated the possibility of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), but due to an increased number of lymphocytes and suspicious areas in the intestinal ultrasound, lymphoma was strongly suspected, and Cordy was purchased from an online store.

To avoid an open surgery and definitive diagnosis, the condition is being monitored with steroid treatment and Cordy.

We received an email consultation asking whether the cat’s diagnosis was definitively lymphoma and for advice on diet and other matters.

Advice from Our Company

・There is insufficient information to definitively confirm lymphoma. Steroid treatment is used for both lymphoma and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), making it difficult to confirm the diagnosis.
・Firstly, it is important to restore the immune system to enhance the body’s natural healing power.
・It is recommended to conduct regular imaging tests, such as ultrasound, for the suspicious areas in the intestines.
・A low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet is recommended.

There were concerns about kidney failure.

For cats with kidney failure, protein restriction is important. However, extreme protein restriction can lead to muscle self-digestion to compensate for energy deficiency, which can weaken the body further.

If there are no symptoms of kidney failure, ensure proper protein intake to build muscle, increase metabolism, and aim for a body that can withstand illness.

Current Status

Cats tend to be more sensitive to taste compared to dogs, and some people find it challenging to give them Cordy. However, this particular cat fortunately eats very well when Cordy is mixed into its food.

The cat’s diet has been changed from previous dry food to raw meat, raw fish, vegetables, and canned food.

The cat experienced increased appetite due to steroids, which sometimes led to overeating and vomiting, and there were also instances of chronic diarrhea due to overeating. However, these issues have now settled down.

Since around September 2015, when the chronic diarrhea began, there were observations of an abnormal craving for fatty foods.

It is often said that “a transformed cat licks the oil of the lantern,” which indicates that cats generally love oil. However, such symptoms can occur when there is a deficiency of Vitamin A or Vitamin D.

It is believed that this craving occurred due to excessive excretion of vitamins caused by diarrhea.

After switching the diet to canned food, raw fish, and raw vegetables, these symptoms have subsided. The cat’s body, which had become emaciated, has returned to a healthier state, and its coat has become shinier.

The cat celebrated its 14th birthday at the end of February 2016. Although there was an increase in vomiting during the tapering off of steroids, the symptoms are now under control with adjusted steroid dosages. At present, there are no lumps suggestive of tumors upon physical examination, no diarrhea or vomiting, and the weight, which had dropped to 4.1 kg, has increased back to 5 kg.

Though the disease name remains unknown, there have been reports of improvement in previously concerning symptoms, which have brought joy to the owner.

Subsequent Developments

Early April 2016

During the shedding season, the cat vomited hairballs. Although Laxatone was prescribed last year, it caused diarrhea and strained bowel movements from the day after administration, followed by chronic diarrhea and nausea. Additionally, there were concerns about the petroleum-derived ingredients in Laxatone, prompting contact to discuss further measures.

While the petroleum-derived ingredients in Laxatone are not absorbed by the body, excessive intake of the oil content might cause diarrhea. It is less taxing on the body to pass hairballs through stool rather than vomiting them, but given that a cat’s intestines are prone to stretching, there is a potential risk of developing “megacolon” in the future or getting hairballs stuck in the intestines. Therefore, it was decided to monitor the situation with cat grass initially.

Opinions are divided regarding cat grass, but as long as the cat grass does not contain harmful components, it can naturally stimulate the gastrointestinal tract to expel hairballs, which wild cats do by eating grass. This might be a preferable approach to dealing with hairballs. However, it is important to ensure moderation, so the owner was advised to regulate the amount consumed.

The cat’s health is stable, and its weight is well-maintained.

Mid-April

The condition is stable, and the steroids have been tapered to once every three days. Due to a slight deterioration in kidney values observed in a blood test last April, fluid therapy has been continued. Currently, the steroids are also putting some strain on the kidneys, so I advised continuing fluid therapy within a manageable range.

A lump had formed on the neck due to the needle puncture during fluid therapy sessions, but it has shrunk to about half its size after starting Cordy.

**Late April**
Although he was stable for about a week on steroids administered once every three days, there was a single incident of severe vomiting. He calmed down and ate well after that. However, it seemed like his water intake increased since he started vomiting hairballs, so I asked them to monitor his daily water consumption. For cats, drinking more than their body weight (kg) x 100 ml per day is considered excessive thirst.

**Early May**
While occasional hairball vomiting or slight vomiting occurs, he is otherwise very healthy, and his weight has increased to 5.2 kg.

**Mid-May**
His weight has increased to 5.28 kg, but he seems to be straining repeatedly, possibly due to hard stools. The vomit content has also changed, and the frequency has increased. Sometimes, he vomits 7-8 times a day, suggesting the cause is not hairballs.

Vomiting can be associated with kidney failure or IBD-related constipation, so I advised them to get blood tests done at their regular vet.

**Late May**
After an antiemetic injection at the vet, the vomiting calmed down, but it returned a few days later. The vomit often contained cat grass, and once they stopped giving him cat grass, the vomiting subsided.

Blood tests showed no worsening values from January’s results, maintaining the current state. An ultrasound showed that the suspicious area in the intestines from the last scan had disappeared this time. X-rays also did not detect any tumor changes.

As it stands, they are to maintain the steroid regimen at once every three days and observe his condition with food and Cordy. Weight: 5.0 kg.

**Mid-June**
His condition is excellent, and his weight has recovered to 5.28 kg.

Although he noticed the steroid mixed in his food and didn’t take the full dose for a few days, his condition and appetite remained good. The lump on the back of his neck has also completely disappeared.

**Late June**
His condition continues to be good, maintaining a weight of 5.2 kg. He became suspicious of steroids mixed in his food and temporarily lost 100 g of weight.

They were considering homemade medication jelly, but since he showed interest in powdered dried sardines for humans, they sprinkled it on wet food and embedded the steroids, which he ate without issue.

**July**
There were occasional bouts of diarrhea, but his condition remained relatively stable. His weight stayed the same at 5.2 kg.

**August**
Severe diarrhea persisted, but his energy and appetite remained intact. However, he stopped eating raw chicken he used to eat.

There are also signs of suspected cystitis, raising concerns about decreased immunity due to the heat.
The weight slightly decreased to 5.1 kg.

September

Although diarrhea continued, after eating raw chicken sprinkled with bonito powder, there was a report of good stools. It is possible that enzymes and other substances in raw chicken helped regulate the stomach condition, but diarrhea reoccurred a few days later.

When the intake of sashimi and raw chicken was increased, good stools appeared again but then diarrhea recurred a few days later, creating a cycle. Despite little change in diet between periods of good stools and diarrhea, there is concern about potential worsening of IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) or lymphoma. However, it was reported that the pet is still energetic, has no issues with appetite, and has seen a slight increase in weight.

November

Since September, the frequency of vomiting increased slightly, and weight decreased to 4.6 kg. Therefore, steroids were increased to half a tablet per day, and after seeing improvement, the dosage was changed to every other day. Cordy was also given in double the amount.

It seems that IBD or lymphoma started to flare up during the late summer to early autumn, when pets’ immune systems are at their lowest, but by increasing the doses of steroids and Cordy, the pet managed to get through it. The condition is gradually returning to normal, and weight increased to 4.88 kg. Energy and appetite remain stable, and it is reported that the pet is actively asking for food.

December

There were no changes in weight, appetite was strong, and the pet enjoyed KFC fried chicken, their long-time favorite, for Christmas. The steroid dosage was reduced to half a tablet every three days, and although vomiting occurred about once every two days, the stool condition seems to have stabilized.

January 2017

Worry remains about the persistent vomiting.

It was noted that the pet started drinking more water than before, raising concerns about possible progression of kidney failure. However, energy and appetite are reported to be stable.

From late in the month, diarrhea symptoms recurred, and simultaneous with this, vomiting frequency increased slightly, so an increase in steroids is currently being considered.

February 2017

With the combined use of steroids, symptoms are being kept as stable as possible. Steroid use has suppressed the diarrhea.

While the frequency of vomiting hasn’t changed much, there’s no issue with appetite, and the pet safely reached their 15th birthday. Previously, only Cordy had been administered, but from this month, organic germanium has also been added to the treatment regimen.

March

Because the vomiting frequency remained unchanged, Red Bean Cedar supplements were also added.

Although there are some fluctuations in symptoms, it seems that vomiting frequency has slightly decreased. Considering the pet might be affected by the cold, clothing was chosen.

May 2017

Due to significant fluctuations in condition since the end of April, tests were conducted earlier in May, leading to a diagnosis of lymphoma at Stage 5.
In order to address the observed weight loss, we recommended a lactic acid bacteria supplement to improve intestinal health and began its use.

After being diagnosed with lymphoma, there was a temporary period of severe vomiting and a complete loss of energy and appetite. However, the frequency of vomiting has since decreased, and both energy levels and appetite have improved. Occasionally, there is still diarrhea, so we are also using anti-diarrheal medication.

However, we have not yet been able to halt the weight loss, which will be an ongoing challenge.

June 2017

There has been no change in the frequency of vomiting, and there are no problems with appetite. Stool condition is very good.
However, the weight loss has progressed; in early June, the weight was 3.45kg, but by the end of June, it had decreased to 3.15kg.

We have added BCAA, which allows for direct intake of amino acids, and taurine, an essential amino acid for cats.
The steroid dosage has been increased to one tablet per day.
Due to the rainy season, overall circulation can be easily disrupted, so we requested acupoint stimulation and massage, which, although it seemed puzzling, appeared to be quite enjoyable and relaxing.

Currently, a calm lifestyle is possible, but we aim to at least slow down the weight loss.

August 2017

The weight has further decreased to 2.5kg. The steroid dose remains unchanged at one tablet per day.
Despite this, appetite is strong, energy levels are satisfactory, and there is the ability to go to the bathroom independently.
In early July, there was vomiting every two days, but the frequency gradually decreased, and there were weeks in August with no vomiting at all.
Subcutaneous fluids have been started at home, which is thought to help in preventing dehydration.

September and October 2017

Although there was a slight increase in vomiting in early September, by increasing the frequency of fluid administration and the dosage of Cordyceps, the frequency of vomiting decreased by late September, maintaining very good levels of appetite and energy.
This improvement continued into early October, but in late October, there was a sudden change in condition following the inability to use the tongue properly.
Seizing ensued, and testing revealed severe hypoglycemia. Temporary recovery was achieved with glucose administration, but the following day, the crossing of the Rainbow Bridge occurred.

Two years since symptoms appeared, and more than a year and a half since the diagnosis of suspected lymphoma.
While aggressive treatments like chemotherapy are often required, symptom improvement was achieved with steroids, Cordy, dietary therapy, and the help of other supplements. Despite weight dropping from a maximum of 7.5 kg to 2.1 kg at the end, the patient lived vigorously.
In a situation where life expectancy might have been significantly reduced, the patient’s vibrant energy surprised their family and allowed them to spend their remaining time in their own way.

May they rest in peace.

Cordy for Lymphoma Countermeasures

There are many cases where giving Cordy to a pet with lymphoma has resulted in improved or stabilized conditions without further deterioration.
Cordy’s effectiveness can typically be assessed within a short period of about a month to a month and a half.

Our research lab is investigating whether administering Cordy can modulate the immune system, maintain or improve quality of life (QOL), and potentially offer benefits against cancer.

It was reported that a rabbit, after undergoing a hysterectomy for a uterine and ovarian tumor that had metastasized to the lungs, is maintaining good health and is even more energetic than before the surgery. Similarly, there are multiple cases of rabbits with tumors, where although there are no significant changes in blood tests or X-ray examinations, the rabbits are more energetic and have a better appetite compared to before.

We would like to introduce a case where the liver values of dogs and cats with deteriorating liver function significantly improved by administering domestically produced SPF (Specific Pathogen Free) swine-derived placental extract powder. The liver is known as the “silent organ” and even if there is no deterioration in values, domestically produced SPF swine-derived placental extract powder may be effective for pets undergoing treatment with anticancer drugs, steroids, antibiotics, and other medications.

Providing information to support your pet’s health>>

Domestically produced SPF swine-derived placental extract powder is recommended for supporting the health of pets with poor liver function.

The liver is known as the silent organ. Even if symptoms are not clearly apparent, a pet that seems to be less energetic or appears tired might be experiencing liver function decline.

Moreover, most medications including steroids, antibiotics, and anticancer drugs can reduce liver function.

We frequently receive consultations for issues such as decreased energy and appetite, pets on medication for illness, or those with poor liver values in blood tests.

Below are examples of pets with poor liver function who were administered domestically produced SPF swine-derived placental extract powder.

Example 1: Pet with Poor Liver Function

Case of Improved Liver Values during ALT(GTP) Elevation

Animal species: Toy Poodle
Age and Gender: 14 years old, Male
Disease/Symptoms: Decreased liver function, gallbladder removal (cholecystolithiasis)
Provided by: Placenta Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (9th Placenta Clinical Research Association Conference Presentation)

This case was discovered incidentally during an X-ray which found cholecystolithiasis (bile retention) (Figure 1).

A blood test showed elevated liver enzyme levels (ALT) (indicating decreased liver function), so a CT scan was done for symptom confirmation (Figure 1, bottom left). It was judged that there was a risk of rupture if left as is, leading to gallbladder removal surgery.

Post-surgery, liver enzyme levels (ALT) continued to rise, initially falling but then increasing again. Thus, domestically produced SPF swine-derived placental extract powder was mixed into the diet and administered once daily at 0.5g.

As a result, the liver enzyme level was 300U/l at the start of administration, but improved to 70U/l after 3 months of administration (see below).

Providing information to support your pet’s health>>

Example 2: Pet with Poor Liver Function

Improvement from Increased ALT (GTP) and Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP)

Animal species: Toy Poodle
Age and Gender: 8 years old, Female
Disease/Symptoms: Decreased liver function, cholecystolithiasis
Provided by: Placenta Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (9th Placenta Clinical Research Association Conference Presentation)

This Toy Poodle had previously undergone treatment for immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, which subsequently worsened the liver condition, causing symptoms of jaundice and decreased energy.

The blood test results at that time (March 11, 2011) showed that both ALT (GTP) and ALP (alkaline phosphatase) levels exceeded the reference values significantly, with bilirubin (TBIL) also being unfavorable (indicating worsening liver function).

An ultrasound was also conducted, considering surgery for suspected gallstones, but a diagnosis of cholecystolithiasis was made.
After diagnosis, the administration of domestic SPF pig-derived placenta extract powder mixed with the diet, at a dose of 0.5g once daily, was initiated.

In addition, “Spacral” was used concurrently, a human medication that promotes bile excretion. One tablet (40mg) was quartered, and a dose of 10mg per day was used.

As early as the fourth day after starting treatment, blood biochemistry test values began to show improvement, and by the end of two months, the values for ALT, ALP, and TBIL had recovered to within normal ranges.

Simultaneously, symptoms of jaundice disappeared, the coat became very shiny, and the animal regained full activity.

Species: Miniature Dachshund
Age & Sex: 12 years old, Male
Disease & Symptoms: Liver tumor, hepatomegaly
Information provided by: Placenta Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

Administered 0.5g of domestic SPF pig-derived placenta extract powder mixed with the diet once daily.
After 16 days of administration, blood tests showed a decrease in liver enzyme ALT (GPT) levels. (*Improvement in liver function)

Providing information to support your pet’s health>>

Case 6: Pet with Poor Liver Function

Reduction in GPT, ALP, TBIL (Total Bilirubin), and Glu (Blood Glucose) levels

Species: Border Collie
Age and Gender: 12 years old
Disease: Liver cancer
Information provided by: Placenta Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

Despite receiving veterinary treatment, the pet’s liver values did not decrease (indicating that liver function was likely impaired due to high liver values), so they began administering Domestic SPF Pig-Derived Placenta Extract Powder. One month after starting the administration of Domestic SPF Pig-Derived Placenta Extract Powder, significant decreases in GPT, ALP, TBIL (Total Bilirubin), and Glu (Blood Glucose) levels were observed.
